About Us

Welcome to the home of the Dawson Diamond Dancers website. Under the leadership of Director Leslie Grant, the Dawson Diamonds are the award winning dance team for the Glenda Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. The Diamonds entertain half-time audiences at the Dawson High School football and basketball games.

The Diamonds represent the school in an exemplary manner, serving as role models for appropriate behavior, citizenship and service in the community.

The team devotes a great deal of time and energy year round to the dance program. The girls perform throughout the school year with football season in the fall, basketball season in the winter, and competition season in the spring. Their commitment and dedication has contributed to an impressive list of awards and recognitions at regional, state and national competitions in the short time of its existence.

Our Director Ė Leslie Grant

Mrs. Grant is a former Army Brat and graduated from Southlake Carroll HS in Southlake, TX. After graduating HS she auditioned and made the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles. While at Tyler Mrs. Grant had the opportunity to perform in the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Victory Bowl Parade, Tyler Rose Festival, the Bank United Thanksgiving Day Parade, numerous Houston Oilers games and she was able to meet Former First Lady Barbara Bush.. After Tyler, she transferred to Southwest Texas State University where she became a member of the SWT Srutters. Mrs. Grant served as a Strutter Lieutenant for two years. She also had the opportunity to perform with the Strutters in Australia, Portugal, Macyís Thanksgiving Day Parade and MTVís TRL. Mrs. Grant graduated SWT with a degree in Dance Education. Before coming to Dawson she was director of the National Champion Caney Creek Starlettes in Conroe ISD. Mrs. Grant met her husband Coach Grant, a Dawson coach, at Caney Creek. She is very proud to be the director of the National Champion Dawson Diamonds.
